When performance counts, pools choose Anti Wave.

For over five decades, Anti Wave has been dedicated to the design, innovation, and production of the world’s finest performance swimming, water polo, leisure, pool deck, and pool programming equipment.

Proudly an Australian, family-run company with a truly global reach, Anti Wave delivers top-performance aquatic technologies through a strong and growing network of Authorised Licensees and Distributors around the world.

Founded in 1971 by former professional water polo player Anti Kajlich, Anti Wave equipment was first selected for the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, followed by the 1st World Aquatics Championships in Cali, Colombia (1975). These early selections set the foundation for a long history of excellence and trust in global competition environments.

Since then, Anti Wave has led the world in aquatic product innovation and development. Anti Wave equipment has been chosen for elite facilities including Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games venues, FINA World Cup events, National Swimming and Water Polo Championships, and countless state, regional, and community aquatic centres worldwide.

Today, Anti Wave maintains licensed production in nine countries, with distribution in every continent, and operates under the direction of Anti’s son Anton, a former Australian Youth Water Polo goalkeeper – with over 25 years experience in the aquatics sector, who now manages the company in line with the long-established principles of innovation, durability, and global accessibility.

Anti Wave continues to expand worldwide availability, ensuring that the highest-quality top performance aquatic sports equipment is accessible to an ever-growing number of countries and sport communities.

The Anti Wave Story:

Anti Wave Founder Anti Kajlich:

Anti Wave Founder, Anton (Anti) Kajlich, grew up in the small Spa town of Piestany, now Slovakia – renowned for its aquatic sports – with river, pools and thermal spas hosting a range of aquatic activities and renowned in the region as a centre for healing and rejuvenation. As a young man he grew up with a love of Polo, going on to be selected as Goalie for the Czechoslovakia National Polo team 1962-1967, his team becoming Czechoslovakian Club Champions in 1965. Notably, he also played as honorary Goalie for the Cuban Water Polo team in 1964, while visiting Cuba with his Czech national team for training and competitions that year!

With a brilliant and ambitious mind, far too restricted under the severe Iron curtain of communist Czechoslovakia, using an Austrian Polo competition as his cover, Anti then defected from the Communist regime bound for the United States in 1967. He studied Chemical Engineering at University of California Berkley, gaining the University’s first sports scholarship for Water Polo, and going on to be selected for the ‘All American’ Team as Goalie in 1967.

Drawing on his engineering background and his years as a Water Polo goalkeeper in the United States, Anti recognised a unique opportunity to design and manufacture high-quality Water Polo Goals and Swimming Racing Lanes for competition swimming. Working from his garage, he produced what would become the Munich 1972 Olympic model of the original ‘Anti Goal’. Patented in 1974, the goal rapidly became the best-selling polo goal in the USA and soon gained worldwide adoption. Fast forward to today, the Anti range of goals remains the best-selling and most widely distributed in history.

Anti’s uniquely engineered ‘Anti Wave’ Racing Lanes followed shortly after. First manufactured in 1973, they were selected for the 1975 1st World Swimming Championships in Cali, Colombia. These new lanes were a major advancement over previous designs, offering superior wave-minimisation and unmatched durability. Very quickly, Patented Anti Wave Racing Lanes became the global standard for high-performance aquatic facilities and were selected at top facilities around the world.

In 1981, Anti and his family moved to Brisbane, Australia, establishing what would become the long-term headquarters for Anti Wave’s global operations. Over the decades, Anti worked tirelessly to expand the Anti Wave range into a comprehensive suite of world-class aquatic equipment. This included Racing Lanes, Starting Blocks, Water Polo Goals, Pool Gratings, StoReels, and a wide array of other products essential to competitive and commercial aquatic facilities worldwide. His designs were grounded in durability, innovation, practicality, and global availability – principles that remain at the heart of Anti Wave today.

Masters Polo Champion:

Anti continued to play FINA Masters 80+ Polo well into his 80’s, securing a Gold Medal at the FINA World Cup Masters competition in Montreal in 2014 with his team the ‘Golden Oldies,’ and his team gaining a Silver Medal at the 2017 FINA World Masters Championship – with the oldest age group in the competition’s history of +70 age group in Budapest. He remained firmly committed to his sport right up to his last days, committed to his great swim and polo mates world wide, and dedicated to a lifetime of service to the aquatics industry around the world.

Anti Wave – Next Generation – Building the Next 50 Years:

In July 2025, we sadly said goodbye to our founder, Anti Kajlich, following his courageous battle with cancer. His vision, creativity, and relentless pursuit of excellence remain the foundation upon which Anti Wave stands today.

Today, his son, Anton Kajlich, proudly leads the company forward – continuing the principles, innovation, and long-term global vision established by his father. A former Australian Youth Water Polo goalkeeper, Anton brings more than 25 years of international experience in the aquatics industry. Since formally stepping into leadership in 2018, Anton has driven the development of next-generation product innovations while significantly expanding Anti Wave’s global licensed manufacturing and distribution network. Today, Anti Wave Global has Licensed Production in 9 countries and Authorised Distribution across approximately 200 partners worldwide.

Having grown up immersed in both competitive sport and the aquatics industry, Anton has developed deep expertise across product design and engineering, global manufacturing systems, elite competition requirements, and international distribution and networks. This foundation now underpins Anti Wave’s global operations. Under his leadership, Anti Wave has evolved into a truly global aquatic infrastructure company – delivering world-class competition equipment, engineering systems, and project solutions across every continent.

Holding a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development and Business Management from the University of Queensland, Anton has also driven Anti Wave’s export market development and product management initiatives, strengthening the company’s global reach while driving continuous product improvement and innovation. He speaks English and Spanish and is married with two children.

Anti Wave’s legacy lives on through continuous innovation, world-class quality, and a steadfast commitment to the future of aquatic sport – values established by Anti and carried forward by the next generation.
